
Lars Arvidson was educated at the Royal Academy of Music and the Academy of Opera in Stockholm. Since his graduation in 1996, he has remained one of Sweden’s most sought-after singer in both opera and concerts, having worked with all the major symphony orchestras and opera houses throughout Sweden. He sings the bass solos in all major concert pieces, masses and oratorios by composers such as Bach, Handel, Mozart and Haydn.
He has sung at the Royal Opera in Stockholm, at the operas in Malmö, Umeå and Göteborg, Folkoperan and Drottningholmsoperan in Sweden and abroad at the Comique Opera in Paris, the operas in Amsterdam, Leipzig and at the Händel Festspiele in Göttingen to name a few.
During this season, Arvidson is part of two productions at the Malmö Opera: as Bartolo in The Marriage of Figaro and Dr. Kolenaty in The Makropulos Affair.
In the fall of 2022, he sang several roles in the world premiere of the huge oratory Livets bok, also by Sandström together with the Symphony Orchestra of Norrköping and a large portion of the Swedish greatest opera singers.
Lars has been a frequent guest at the Royal Opera in Stockholm where he has performed a number roles in Schreker’s Der ferne Klang, Puccini’s La Fanciulla del West, Prokofiev’s The Fiery Angel, Gefors’ Christina, the title role in Le Nozze di Figaro, and world premieres like Jennefelt’s Sport & Fritid and Borosova-Ollas’ new opera – Dracula.
In the summer of 2016, Lars Arvidson sang Morales in the Dalhalla Opera production of Carmen. The same year he also sang Parsi Rustomi/Krishna in the critically acclaimed production of Satyagraha at Folkoperan in Stockholm. During the Spring of 2017, he participated in Malmö Opera’s production of Karl-Birger Blomdahl’s Aniara.

At Folkoperan in Stockholm, Lars sung Wotan in Wagner´s Das Rhinegold, Don Alfonso in Cosi fan tutte, Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor, Colline in La bohème and he also participated in the world premiere of Sven-David Sandström’s Jeppe.
Other engegements include Wotan at Dalhalla Opera, Leporello in Don Giovanni at the Norrland Opera and at Drottningholm, Bartolo in Le Nozze di Figaro and Urbain in Offenbach’s La Vie Parisienne at Malmö Opera, Zopir and La Vengeance in Rameau’s Zoroastre at Drottningholm, in Amsterdam and in Paris, Leone in Tamerlano in Amsterdam and Seneca in L’Ãncronazione di Poppea at Drottningholmsteatern.
