
An up-and-coming talent to watch, Swedish soprano Elin Eriksson completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Piteå School of Music and graduated from Malmö Opera Academy in the Spring of 2022.
As a part of her education at Malmö Opera Academy, Elin debuted 2022 as Berta in Rossini’s Il Barbieri di Siviglia at Malmö Opera. She has also debuted roles as Erste Dame and Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Sill-Maja in Det stora oväsendet by Rickard Söderberg, The Countess in J. Strauss’ Wienerblut at Vätteroperetten and as Mimì in Puccini’s La bohème with Malmö Opera. During the spring of 2025 she is revisiting the role of Mimì at Norrlandsoperan. In addition to this Elin has a vested interest in contemporary music and has premiered both newly written operas and chamber works.
In the fall of 2023, she returned to Malmö Opera to premiere the main role Irene Adler in the newly written opera Sherlock och Sångerskan by Lars Ljungberg – a role she will revisit in the fall of 2025. This summer, Elin will make her debut as Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro with Skånska Operan.
Beyond the opera repertoire Elin is also well versed and sought after on the concert stages. She has a long list of orchestral and oratorio works, where Berlioz’s Les nuits d’été, Larsson’s Förklädd gud and Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem are favorite works. 2024 she sang Poulenc’s Gloria with the Malmö Opera Chorus and Orchestra.
Elin has received several scholarships for her voice and artistry, notable among them are the Swedish Royal Academy of Music, Lasse Lönndahl, Operakonstens vänner i Skåne and Kristina Nilsson Society.
