French dramatic soprano Anne Derouard is celebrated for her powerful voice and captivating stage presence. A graduate of the prestigious Sorbonne in Paris with a Master’s in Musicology, she also earned top honors in Singing, Chamber Music, and Music Theory from the Nice Conservatory. Her training was enriched by invitations to the International Music Academy of Villecroze, where she studied with Dalton Baldwin, and a scholarship to the Bayreuth Festival. She further honed her craft at the Moscow Conservatory before working with esteemed American vocal coach Neil Semer, who helped her develop her signature vocal depth and expression.

In 2024, Anne took on her first Turandot at Malmö Opera, conducted by Daniel Carter and directed by Sofia Jupither, marking a significant milestone in her career.

Anne’s remarkable vocal abilities and dramatic skill enable her to navigate the grand repertoire of French, German, Italian, and Russian opera with ease. Her operatic debut in Così fan tutte under Olivier Holt’s baton drew attention to her exceptional talent. She went on to perform the title role in Aida in Ukraine and Brünnhilde in Wagner’s Die Walküre conducted by Alexandre Myrat.

Highlights of her career include a performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 at the Berlin Philharmonia with Seitaro Hishikawa and a French tour with the Clermont-Ferrand Opera House, where she starred in The Barber of Seville and Offenbach’s La Grande Duchesse de Gérolstein. Both productions earned her critical acclaim for her vocal mastery and charismatic stage presence.

Anne has also been a standout performer in major concert halls. At Nürnberg’s Meistersingerhalle, she sang Britten’s War Requiem under Joana Mallwitz, and at Erfurt Opera, she debuted as Ortrud in Wagner’s Lohengrin and later portrayed Joan of Arc in Tchaikovsky’s Orleanskaya Deva under Yannis Pouspourikas.

Her talent has been recognized with numerous accolades, including First Prize at Les Maîtres du Chant Français, the Audience Prize at the Bordeaux Opera Competition, and finalist placements at the Bolshoi International Opera Competition.

Anne is equally at home on the concert stage, performing oratorios such as Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Solemn Vespers, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, Bach’s Magnificat, and Zeisl’s Requiem Ebraico in prestigious venues across France and internationally.

With her dynamic artistry and commanding vocal presence, Anne Derouard continues to make her mark on the world’s operatic and concert stages.
