started playing the cello when she was 6 years old at Bergen Culture School, and later she continued her studies at Barratt Due Music Institute.
Amalie is currently studying with Prof. Torleif Thedéen at The Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Edsberg Manor.
As a soloist Amalie has performed with Bergen Philharmonich Orchestra, Gävle Symphony Orchestra, Südwestdeutches Kammerorkester, Symphony Orchestra of the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, and several semi-professional orchestras in Norway and Sweden.
Upcoming highlights in season 2016/2017 includes Saint Saens Cello concerto no 1 with Gävle Symphony Orchestra, Elgars Cello concerto with Gothenburg University Orchestra, Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations with Bergen Philharmonich Youth Orchestra, Dvoraks Cello concerto with Bergen University Orchestra and with St Matteus Symphony Orchestra.
Amalie appears frequently at international festivals such as Hindsgavl Festival, Vinterfestspillene in Røros, Festspillene in Bergen, Nesset Musikkfest and Swedish Chamber Soloists.
Amalie was chosen to be “Young Swedish Soloist 2016” at Scenkonst Sörmland, and was invited to give a solo recital at Julita Mansion in Sweden together with pianist David Huang.
Amalie is a 1st-prize winner of the Ljunggren Music Competition (2015), 1st-prize winner of the Young Musician Competition (2012) in Norway, and winner of numerous prizes and scholarships at international festivals and competition.
She was invited as a “Young Artist” to Norwegian Youth Chamber Music Festival and Lyckå Chamber Music Festival.
Musicians she has performed with includes Staffan Scheja, Alexandar Madzar, Antje Weithaas, Anton Sorokow and Ingrid Andsnes.
Amalie plays on a Swedish cello built by Peter Westerlund in 2016.
