Swedish conductor Mika Eichenholz is a well-liked and saught-after guest conductor in Scandinavian, European and South American orchestras.
Mika Eichenholz is a conductor who has led orchestras in Scandinavia, Europe, and South America. In 2019, he became the chief conductor of the Concepción Orchestra in Chile, and in recent years, he has conducted concerts in Santiago, Buenos Aires, Mendoza, Montevideo, and other cities.

 

In Sweden, Eichenholz is a frequent guest conductor at the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic and the Swedish Chamber Orchestra, and he has conducted over 200 concerts with the Schönbrunn Orchestra throughout Europe. He has also conducted at the Gothenburg Opera, the Wermland Opera, and the Folkoperan in Stockholm, and he regularly conducts at the Stockholm Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

 

Eichenholz is also known for his opera engagements, particularly at the Kazan Opera House where he has worked with singers from the Bolshoi Opera and the Mariinsky Theatre. He has toured European cities with productions of Verdi’s Nabucco, Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers, and Mozart’s The Magic Flute.

 

Eichenholz studied conducting with Maestro Jorma Panula at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland. He made his debut with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in Stockholm in 1989 and won the first prize at the Swedish Conducting Competition that same year. The following year, he replaced Neeme Järvi on very short notice during a tour with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, which became a great artistic success and helped propel Eichenholz’s career, opening doors to orchestras all over the world.
