Leif Karlsson is a renowned Swedish conductor and Artistic director. He is the principal conductor of the Lithuanian Symphonic Wind Orchestra and the Inspector of Music for the Swedish Armed Forces. Karlsson has worked with a great number of orchestras in Scandinavia over the last few decades.
As a conductor, he has been working with Wermland Opera, Förvarets Musikkorps in Trondheim and Harstad, Dansk militärkorps in Haderslev, Norrlandsoperan, Jönköpings Sinfonietta, Västerås Sinfonietta and Bodö Sinfonietta, among others. He has been the leader of the Norrbotten Youth Symphonic Band for the last 30 years and conductor for the award winning Uppsala Blåsarsymfoniker since 2014.
Karlsson is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music and as a percussionist and conductor he has premiered more than 250 compositions. Karlsson was one of the founders of the world renowned percussion ensemble Kroumata, where he was a performing and recording artist for 30 years. Kroumata has performed in 43 countries and almost 600 cities worldwide and recorded 19 critically acclaimed records.
