After studying with Håkan Hardenberger and Bo Nilsson at the Malmö Music Conservatory, trumpeter Filip Draglund has come a long way. He is, without a doubt, one of the most significant and interesting trumpet players in his generation. Draglund is praised for his virtuosity and musicality.
In 2014, he won both one of the biggest competitions for brass musicians, the International Brass Competition in Gdańsk and as the first wind player ever, he won the Swedish Ljunggrenska competition in Gothenburg. During this spring, Filip Draglund appeared as a soloist with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
In recent years, Draglund has performed at festivals around Europe and as a soloist with, among others, the Göteborg Symphony Orchestra, the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra and the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra.
He moves between genres with ease and is an active chamber musician with a deep affinity for contemporary music. At his diploma conference, Draglund presented work by Benjamin Staern, “Surprise!” together with the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra.
