Elísabet Einarsdóttir is a stunning, young soprano who has studied singing at the Iceland Academy of the Arts, at the Conservatorio ”G. Verdi” di Milano (graduated with honors 110/110 cum laude) and at the Malmö Academy of Music.
Elísabet has debuted roles such as Susanna in The marriage of Figaro, Despina in Cosi fan tutte, Norina in Don Pasquale and Zerlina in Don Giovanni in theaters like Teatro Titano in San Marino, Kurtheater in Bad Ems and Ekhoftheater, Gotha in Germany. In 2016 she was selected for the Vadstena Academy in Sweden, which allowed her to perform 12 performances in the production ”Pazzie d’amore” at the Vadstena Castle in the summer of 2016.
She is an avid proponent of modern and new music with a repertoire that includes music by Webern, Berg, Berio as well as several young, contemporary composers.
The Swedish-Icelandic soprano has won several prizes and awards, such as 1st prize and the audience prize in the tv broadcast competition ”Coop Music Awards” (2015), the special prize in Cengio in Lirica (2016), the chamber music musician prize at ”Rotary Club Milano S. Siro of Conservatorio G Verdi di Milano” (2016) as well as the 1st prize in the competition ”Ovis-rösten” in Malmö (2018).
Currently Elísabet is doing her internship at Malmö Opera, taking part in productions at the opera house, as a part of her education in Malmö.
Elísabet Einarsdóttir was born 1989 in Gothenburg, Sweden in an Icelandic family.
She often performs as a soloist with different orchestras, ensembles and choirs, in Italy, Sweden and of course her native Iceland. She has been active within the field of contemporary and modern music, besides the more traditional opera repertoire including works by Mozart, Bellini, Donizetti as well as works from the baroque and romantic era.
