Three years ago, the Swedish-Chinese pianist David Huang won the prestigious Soloist prize and was then named P2 Artist in Residence at the Swedish Public Radio. This has led to numerous recordings and performances – among other things, Huang Stenhammar’s second piano concert which he performed with great critical acclaim, together with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra at their concert hall Berwaldhallen. David Huang has also been lauded for his chamber music concept Första Parkett (Front Row), a venture that Huang arranges with friends and colleagues.
David Huang has performed at the HMK Carl XVI Gustav’s 70th birthday, and is a frequent soloist both with orchestras and at recitals in music festivals in and outside Scandinavia. He has been awarded several competition prizes, among others – at the Steinway Piano Festival and the Vera Lotar-Schevchenko International Piano Competition 2012.
He has studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, at Edberg’s Manor with prof. Mats Widlund, and at the Norwegian Barrat Due Music Institute with Jiri Hlinka and Håvard Gimse.
